Comedian, director, writer, actor and former pop musician Ricky Dene Gervais popular by the name Ricky Gervais was born on June 25th 1961 in Berkshire, UK. Ricky was raised in Berkshire by his emigrated father Jerry a Franco-Ontarian and her mother Eva from UK. Ricky Gervais grew up with siblings Larry, Marsha and Bob. Ricky did his secondary education at Ashmead School, Later he graduated in Philosophy from University College London in the year 1979.

Ricky was an atheist from the age of 10 years. In 2008 June he became an Honorary Associate of the National Secular Society. Ricky’s office is in London, where he records his song with Karl Pilkington and Stephen Merchant. During final year studies in London, Ricky and his friend Bill formed a pop duo named “Seona Dancing”. Two of their singles “Bitter Heart” and “More to Lose” was released by London records. The titles peaked to top 70 in UK singles chart. “More to Lose” was re-released in Manila one year later as “Medium” by “Fade”.

After completing studies Ricky started working as an event manager at the University of London Union, however soon Ricky got a job as Head of speech at X-fm London a popular radio station of London. He was once a music adviser for “This Life” the famous BBC drama 1996-97 produced by his girl friend Jane Fallon. Ricky worked in television show Extras; wrote Flanimals a children book in 2004 and featured in live show Politics. He once again worked with airwaves hosting the show with Merchant and Pilkington in 2005 and also during the 2005 Christmas with BBC Radio 2. From 5th December 2005 the first of 12 weekly podcasts was offered by Guardian Unlimited Featuring Ricky, Pilkington and Merchant. The podcast was ranked consistently no1 across the world from January to February 2006. It was listed for the world’s most downloaded podcast in Guinness world Record in 2007. Ricky’s mainstream debut in TV came in 1998 as Channel 4’s series “Comedy Lab”. He drew the national attention when he worked in comedy programme “The 11 o’ clock show” in 1999 broadcasted by Channel 4. After 2 years Ricky presented his own comedy show at Channel 4 name Meet Ricky Gervais. Gervais also has written for BBC sketch show The Jim Tavare Show and Bruise. He is the only comic writer in Britain who wrote a Simpson’s episode.

Ricky’s film career consists of small roles as in the voice of a pigeon in 2005’s Valiant, as a studio executive in 2006 For Your Consideration.. As museum director Dr. McPhee in 2006’s Night at the Museum. He starred in Ghost Town, released on 19th September 2008. He has acted in the popular video game Grand Theft Auto IV. In 2002 Ricky took part in a charity boxing match against Grant Bovey. On 1st July 2007, he performed in the Concert which was for Diana in Wembley Stadium London.

Ricky Gravis got many awards including writers Guild Award of America 2007, Emmy Awards 2007and BAFTA Awards 2007 for Best Comedy Performance.

Currently Ricky lives in London with his partner Jane Fallon who is Television producer and an acclaimed author. Ricky Gervais is ardent supporter of preservation of wild life and eloquent denouncer of bull fighting and fox-hunting.
